JA Processing time

    Hello everyone!

My friend has applied for Jobseeker's Allowance after being on Jobseeker's Benefit. JB just expired when he wanted to start a funded course so he was advised to wait until his JA claim is approved. It's been about 8 weeks now he received an email from DSP saying that a Deciding Officer will be in touch. He has given up hope but I believe he should receive a letter of decision whatever the outcome is. Is this possible that a means test takes so long? Anyone knows anything about the processing time these days?

    Thank you!
