Was going to invest in a second property but changed my mind. Taxes etc and my invalidity pension affected me to much. What options would anyone know out there to invest at low to no rish if that's even possible ?). God bless. Sharin

If you don’t know much about reading reports on companies etc , the best thing is to just buy a fund ( or investment trust ) which tracks the market in general , often referred to as a “ basket “ , you have diversification and you’re only job is not panic selling when stormy waters arrive which frequently happens in the financial markets

funds are very heavily taxed for Irish citizens unfortunately so perhaps an investment trust is a better option?

There's a good summary of the different ways you can invest in the stockmarket here , on AAM

It's not that difficult to get an allocation rate of 101% on a Mutual/Unit-Linked Fund so the 1% Levy is negated.

I think there's a stamp duty of 0.5% on Investment Trusts.

This whole area is under review by the DoF at the moment so it'll definitely change.
