Hello all, I need to buy a car shortly, 2.0 diesel estate, budget up to 15000, 2010 onwards, reliability is my main criteria, I'd buy another Accord if I could, but they are scarce, I'm thinking Mondeo, Avensis, or C class, not keen on VAG cars

They all seem like reasonable choices.

Slightly left field choice, Peugeot 508 estate/sw. 2.0 is a little harder to find here, plenty of 1.6’s. Great spec on these too.

Volvo V60 would be my choice

You should get 2015/2016 for your money

Do Volvo's of that era use the 2.0 PSA engine

We bought a Hyundai i40 estate today - year 2017 for €15,250. We test drove an Audi A4 estate 2015 for €15,500, a Skoda Superb 2016 estate €15,750 and a Skoda Octavia 2016 €€12,950 too. All high spec. All diesel. The Skoda Superb was my favourite and was 2 litre. In fact the Skodas were the best drives and comfort for me....but others in my family wanted the later year. Love estate cars.

No they switched to their own 2.0 litre engine around 2013/2014.

Have a c class 2.1d with over 180k on the clock, has been faultless except for an ignition issue once. A good car but not a massive car. I am tall and not a lot of room for taller people in the back. Skoda superb are meant to be very spacious and well specc 'd.

    Peugeot do a great 2l diesel. I'd suggest a 508 estate.

Nice car with the panoramic sunroof. An underrated motor in 2l form.

Have a 3 series F31 since 2017 and it's just lovely. Nippy, lovely driver, easy on the diesel and zero trouble. I do look after it though.

Looks class too IMO but admittedly some of the C class estates look fine too. Mondeo and Avensis not so much. Octavia/superb and some of the Volvo V70 seem fine cars too.

My A4 avant quattro is on DD, it's a 2014 I am only asking 10k for. 315km but solid service history
