Help with this plug please? The plug/dome has gone down into the waste pipe and is not letting water through. If I were to remove part of the chrome waste under the sink, presumably that bit at the bottom ? would I be able to push the dome up from below so I can get a replacement plug? I guess the spring has broken some way.

The bottom portion of the trap should screw off and should provide access to the fallen plug.

Thank you, it was easier than I realised, and really obvious when I actually did it, the plug was in bits. I don't know why those pop-up plugs are so popular, they are completely unreliable as to whether they will pop back up when you want them to, and they drain very slowly. This same one has been disassembled and cleaned numerous time but is still unreliable.

I agree, a disaster. Have some in the house under a year and already sticking.

Same issue with the sink plug that came with the sink. I replaced the whole sink plug unit and bought one from Screwfix, better quality and 3 yrs in and no issues.

    Same here.

Have done the cleaning, dissemblying oiling etc.

    But still they stick.

I now have one of those clear plastic suction hook things that you use for decorations and Christmas lights, in the bathroom for those sticky emergencies

Maybe we'll get them changed, sometime..
