Husband is after mixing paint up and spray painted white emulsion exterior paint on internal walls and ceilings.

Will we have to sand down all the walls or could we just put interior paint over it?

I would just paint over it, I don't see a major issue with it. One thing to bear in mind is that the house should be ventilated well to allow the exterior paint to cure and dry off as the formulation for interior and exterior paints differs so you want to vent off all of the byproducts. No way you would be able to sand it off anyway, it would block up the sander and you'd have ripples all over.

has it left a poor finish? not sure why you'd want to sand it off. IIRC exterior paint will have things like fungicide etc. in it which makes it more durable for outside use, it's not that it's unsuitable to internal use per se.

Thanks guys. Was in major panic mode last night. It was v bad finish on external walls. Paint shop guy said to use a sealer and then the internal white.
