He is well on course for consideration for Adare in 27 if he can perform well in the majors between now and then..

Ahh I don't know tbh. I reckon he'd need a few wins on DPWT and/or to perform similarly to, say, Tyrell Hatton to get a look in. He's not like a Jon Rahm who'll be picked regardless (obviously his appeal/hearing regarding his fines and status notwithstanding). I suppose he may or may not be as good as or better than lots of them, but he won't get the chance to show it. I've a feeling the next RC team will still look very like the last two, with minimal changes.

Brilliant win for young Tom. The sky is the limit for him, seriously good player for someone so young.

If Donald doesn't captain then Harry Hall, Marco Penge and McKibbin are on a trajectory to make it.

Seep won't be turn nor do I expect Rasmus and possibly Fitzpatrick

Harry hall wont back up this season, hes a million to make the ryder cup team in 2027

You could be right, I forgot about Sepp to be honest, he probably won't make it again.

I'd expect both the twins to be pushing hard though next time round. Is McKibbin on their level ? Time will tell I guess. I think his biggest problem will be having so few events to put himself in the shop window as it were and the ones that he does have, all the big guns will be aiming to peak for those weeks. Would say, two top 10s in majors do it for him ?

I would imagine LIV be getting owgr points soon with their move to 72 holes now announced

Though at the start if they do get it, the LIV Events will be having v low OWGR points as so many of their players have slipped way way down their rankings

The fields are smaller too. So the difficulty or depth should also influence that. Can't see big points being awarded.

It's funny that when this was a big thing for Liv players in the first year or so. The OWGR were working to try to get a solution with Liv - the ex CEO of USGA confirmed this on the NLU podcast. Then Liv decided to walk away from the process. Probably because they didn't want to change their "product" or format. That or they didn't care and thought it made no difference.

Getting ranking points could be a game changer as it will put Liv guys into majors. The next big question is, will they then be granted Ryder Cup qualifying points. You could see an influx of younger mid level pros pretty quickly. All of a sudden Liv stands up a draft system from college and a legit q school.

Although the PGA/DPT/PIF could end up completing their merge before any of this happens, whatever that looks like. Especially with the current US administration being considered friendly to all of this.

The 54 holes was one of the big things day one, especially a lot of the players saying it was a big draw as they wanted a reduced schedule. This seems like a big concession on the part of LIV, makes it really look like trying to keep a sinking ship afloat

I think they're planning another big recruitment drive and I imagine a lot of players they are talking to are referencing the slide down the rankings suffered by the guys who joined previously and the lack of playing rights in the majors as their biggest barrier to joining.

Of course if they got a new influx of top 50 players it would help the ranking points allocation immediately.

The only way they get exposure is LIV players competing in majors. Without ranking points they’ll have a steadily reducing number of entrants in the majors

He's having a bit of a shocker in Abu Dhabi. 71st place 4 over with 5 holes to play

I guess Blue Note actively willing him to perform poorly has worked. 🤣
