Pat the Baker were the distributor for the Republic of Ireland I was told in Dunnes a couple of weeks ago that Pat the Baker no longer does that and only Tescos can get them now because they are not in any of their stores nearby me.

Has anyone seen these in their local Tesco in the last few days? Just wondering if it is simply not enough stock or if Tescos can’t get them either.

They are the tastiest bagels.

Taste isn't an indication of quality, I hope you know that. Especially the US hasn't been that strict as the EU, and often the US produce tasty, but unhealthy stuff.

They're not from the US. They're made in the UK.

As for the OP, Tesco's website has them out of stock too.

Brennan's appear to have replaced the NY Bakery ones in Dunnes, so obviously there was some movement within the bagel industry.

That's a relief! I think, it takes longer to transport food from the UK now? I noticed some products were not in the shelves here for some time. Some are back, some gone for good.

They had Brennans’s bagels for a long time.

I was told Pat the Baker imported the NY Bakery brand and distributed them in the Republic - the guy in Dunnes didn’t know if Pat the Baker ended the contract or the manufacturer did.

Other brand bagels are smaller and don’t fill the old belly.

My OH works for SV, they were also told they're not distributing them to Ireland anymore.

Brennan's are clowns, they produce multiples of Wholegrain bread that's not needed and unsold in the thousands but produce fractions of Wholemeal bread that is needed, do they have an unlimited budget of waste or are they run by fools?

Most companies would dream to be in such a simple position of knowing what's selling and what's a ball of sheite.

I think Brennans know more about their product demand than you do. They also have a keener view on the profit margins than you do. They're more aware of wasted resource than you are. Generally, they know more about what bread to produce, or not produce, than you perceive. Clowns they certainly are not.

If you're looking for a substitute, I think the Fitzgeralds bagels are the best. Dunnes have them.

Worst bagels made, the are dry, small and tasteless. Brenans are and dare I say supervalu bagels are far far better.

Brennan’s are near to the size of New York Bagels.

Bloody hell, that is incredibly disappointing news… have not been able to get them recently alright but just thought it was a supply issue.. tried the brennans, Fitzgerald, Aldi and Lidl ones and nothing compares, they are all muck compared to the New York Bagel

Thanks for this thread lads. I am currently munching thru a very rubbery and bland Cinnamon & Raisin Bagel from Brennans (sad face) 😒

Have been searching the bread aisles in the Major Supermarkets for 'New York Bagels' for some months now. Had just assumed they were pushed out by Brennans.

Soo, now it seems that its all down to Nigel Farrage..

Brennans tried to copy John McCambridge's stone ground Wheat bread.... but seemingly gave up....and McCambridge's is back

New Bakery Bagels are back. Maybe.

There was a few packs in Tescos in Castlebar this morning. I didn’t buy though. Have various breads at the moment but to be honest it was also laziness, I’m used to pre-sliced bagels now.
