    That's a report that will quietly be shelved as I doubt that's the replies that they thought they'd get.

    Notice the use of the word "contracted" in relation to hunters. It reads to me like they could be angling towards pushing deer control out of the hands of recreational weekend hunters and putting it completely in the hands of the NPWS or private companies.


    We're seeing this already with the increased bureaucracy entering deer hunting such as compulsory HCAPs etc. making it as difficult as possible for new hobbyists to enter the sport.


    I know night time shooting of Deer is illegal for Joe Soap but I can see this changing when these "night time shooting qualifications" as proposed by the FEC become law and "qualified professionals" are in control of deer management.

    Yer dead right. NPWS will be tasked with feeding the market via subcontractors, on plush venison while we all lose out.

    How can RTE give a detailed report on this subject with great metrics? Is it because the propaganda machine is well oiled.. lol

    Why could they not detail the discontent regarding the FCP and its 2no in depth reports that have created a wish list that would require a full redrafting of every bit of legislation ever drafted in the state or adopted by the state. Could they detail the kick back from stakeholders and comment on the complete lack of stakeholder engagement.., huh..!

    Maybe they could comment on the validity of the 55k cull number and if verified they might award some actual accolades on the men and women who have invested time, money and soul into deer hunting..

    No.. We, Sir, have been hunted off the stalking grounds in a corporate take over and big business will now stamp their feet and flex their muscle starting with government land and then CHO.. Compulsory Hinting Orders.. on private land..

    You will eat grasshoppers and you will be happy!
