What SSD storage-drive addition fits into this model of laptop? (HP Omen 16)

HP - OMEN 16-c0500na 16.1" Gaming Laptop - AMD Ryzen 7, RX 6600M, 512 GB SSD

I want to upgrade the 512 GB.

I asked the instore computer tech and he reckons there's 2 slots, so keep the current storage and add another one, something called an:

"M.2 drive"?

Can be ordered off Amazon?

I just need to be sure I'm buying the right one before committing to the purchase?

m.2 is the form factor. The official specs only list a single m.2 slot though. Is there anything that confirms a second one is there?

I'm coming here looking for answers, is there any way of determining the upgrade potential from the laptop specifications above?

Tech said I could bring it in for examination to make sure before purchasing, so all else fails I'll do that.

But surely there's a way of knowing from the laptop model code, etc?

I've tried checking that, it's the second google link for that model. The old link to the manual no longer works. I can find other very close models with two m.2 slots visible, but I can't find anything to confirm it for that exact one.

into amazon and get a list of chips.

You want one that's in PCIe mode, as there are older slower SATA mode ones.

And you have PCIe gen 3.0, so you may not want to waste money on the more expensive PCIe 4.0 ones.

It's honestly irritating how unclear HP manuals and tech spec pages are. None of them mention a second slot, yet the images and disassembly video clearly show that closely related family of laptops have two slots, but not one specific to that exact model number.

Yes, it's backwards and forwards compatible.

If the processor is what it is, how is one slot going to support gen 3 whilst the other gen 4?

The CPU has it's own read/write speed, but that's different for different slots on the same motherboard?

I've been round and around with this question with HP tech support, they think not, that it's all gen 3, but the youtube link above claims yes?

Because answers are so conflicting/ambivalent (numerous lanes and mapping....? I'm not a computer tech).

But it doesn't matter at this point, ordered the WD blue SSD.

I got this drive.

When I get it fitted, is there some manual software update that must be performed?

Or does it just slot in and upgrades automatically?
