Anyone been watching this? Running from the beginning in November 1982 with 5 episodes added every week. A lot slower paced than modern day soaps and no overdramatic storylines so much more enjoyable.

    No over dramatic storylines?

1st rape covered in British soap iirc, 1st lesbian kiss, body buried under the patio......

Not at the beginning! The body under the patio wasn't until the mid 90s, the rape storyline wasn't until 1986 - they're only up to mid 1983 at the moment!

    Yeah that's true.

I vaguely remember watching it back when it was in its infancy.

All the soaps have had those dramatic storylines back then but they weren't as frequent as they are now. You had a bit of everyday life in there too like the Grants going shopping on a Saturday because Bobby got stuck in a union meeting at work on the Friday, or the Collins family buying a new car. Different times..

    Are you based in Ireland?

When I try to sign up for the STV Player I get the usual "not available in your country" response.

The Nat and Georgia storyline was the greatest thing ever shown in the history of soaps

Marie Jackson was a classic. Also Harry Cross.
