Somebody had to do it : )

It appears the new E-Class will have a diesel plug in hybrid if their website is correct.

"A drive system combining two worlds.

The E-Class fully adapts to your needs – including how it is powered. With the plug-in hybrid, you can experience flexible driving dynamics and the luxury of no longer having to choose. On the one hand, you benefit from the quiet, low-emission electric motor when driving in urban environments and, on the other hand, you enjoy absolute independence by relying on the performance of the combustion engine (diesel or gasoline) the rest of the time."

From a company car perspective it could be a winner, should fall into lowest bik rate the same as a full EV, 100km battery range, businesses will be able to get the vat back on the diesel something they can't currently do with petrol hybrids.

It's a good looking car with a great looking interior. Looking forward to see the pricing.
