Same Day Electronic Transfer in Ireland

Hi BoI,

From my reading of the "Quickly send money online" help page on your website, domestic (RoI) electronic payments will be received the next working day (if submitted before 2.30pm).

Is there any way to do a faster transfer?

I need to get a payment to another BoI account (not in my branch) by 4pm tomorrow, Thursday. Recipient won't accept a bank draft.

I can't put through the payment today because I only added the recipient as a new payee yesterday and the 48hr waiting period is in effect (expires 9.30am tomorrow). The amount is more than €1000.

I see in your 'Schedule of Fees and Charges for Personal Customers' pdf there are charges for 'Same Day Funds Transfer' (Inter-branch €19.05 each & Inter-bank €25.35 each). I'd be happy to pay whichever charge applies!

Bank transfers sent from BOI to BOI sent before 3.30pm should arrive instantly. If the amount exceeds the payee limit on your online banking, please visit a bank of Ireland branch. Please ensure to bring photographic ID. My colleague will happily assist you.
