Poor Paul Murphy - please read the OP before posting

Karma comes and bites ya.

Mr Murphy, the person who went for the person rather than the policy with direct personal attacks against politicians, now doesn't like when its on the other foot.

I utterly despise personal attacks against anyone and there should be legal protection against protests of any sort outside someone home, but Mr Murphy brought these personal protests into the limelight and now has an issue because the protests are targeting him.

Protests at politicians houses are never a good thing but Paul Murphy has turned a blind eye to the actions of people he has organised into protests in the past so there is an element of schadenfreude in seeing people outside his home.

Maybe this will soften his cough with regards to how he arranges his own protests and the actions of those he organises in future.

His issue is that they targeted his home, his wife and his newborn child. It was wrong when it happened to Simon Harris and it's wrong when it happens to Paul Murphy, whatever you might think of their politics. If he was making an appearance for the cameras at some event, surrounded by Gardai and 100% safe, there would be no issue with protesters following him around.

Any decent person would condemn a bunch of nutters protesting outside a person's private residence.

On a serious note, the only photo I saw in the media looked like it was taken from inside the house, yet all the "protestors" happened to have their faces turned away or shielded by placards at the exact moment it was taken (the car, handily wasn't in the drive to block the photo either, even though Paul and the missus were at home). Are we absolutely sure they're the dreaded, all-powerful Irish Fawr Roysh, and not a bunch of PBP "activists" helping Paul out with a bit of sympathy publicity?

He's a dick and it is karma in a way after the Joan Burton affair but this trend of far right protesting outside polictians' homes is quite worrisome and even more worrisome is the Gardai turning a blind eye to far right activities in general. Such as allowing them free reign to block traffic when and where they feel like it, escorting them into libraries to harass staff and burn books, standing by while they harass politicians at home. They regularly provide protection for people far far worse than Murphy, hardened drug lords and the like. Is it because they're afraid to intervene or do the far right have their sympathisers within the force?

She was surrounded by Gardai at the time, laughing and joking in the back of the car, sneering at people's expensive phones while her assistant referred to those protesting as "the dregs". An inconvenient experience, no doubt. She only went there for a photo opportunity, not to come face to face with people affected by her party's cruel policies. She was "subjected" to nothing she didn't fully deserve. Thankfully, the trumped-up charges, along with Burton's lies, were seen by the court for what they were.

Paul Murphy, on the other hand, had a bunch of thugs turn up at his home. And unlike Burton, he did nothing to deserve it.
