    Don't tell them you are moving unless you have somewhere to go to. If you want to stick it to them, ignore them and when they contact you say, what rent rise. Let them come back to you and the ask do you think that is a valid notice? Suggest they think it over and come back to you.

    One thing to note if you are ending the tenancy yourself and moving somewhere else is that you will have to give the landlord or their agent the required notice which depends on how long you have been there

    If you currently have a fixed term lease e.g. one year, which has been renewed by signing a new fixed term lease following on from the previous one you still have to give notice per the link above. Just letting your current lease expire is not enough.
