Hi Team,

I am looking to add some speakers to my setup, currently I have:

Rega Turntable

Marantz CD

Teac Tape player

Project Phono Box MM Pre Amp

4 way control box connected to the line in on a Sonos 5

I would like to replace the Sons 5 with some speakers.

What speakers would you recommend and would I need to add anything to my setup.

You could do away with the Sonos 5 and use a pair of Active speakers.

You can just connect in your current 4 way box into them.

The Klipsch R41PM would suit perfectly priced at 399€

If you wanted a bit more oomph then the bigger brother the R51PM priced at 499€ is worth a look.

Other than Active speakers you would require an amp and normal speakers.

The best brackets for the F301 would be the B-Tech BT77 which will take a good range of bookshelf speakers:

Hi Team,

I am just about to place an order for the Marantz PM6007, Fyne Audio F301 & B-Tech BT77 brackets.

Am I correct that the PM6007 has two sets of individually controlled speaker outputs? If so, could you recommend speakers suitable for a kitchen?

Hi Dubssab.

The PM6007 can run two set of speakers but they are not individually controlled unfortunately.

The volume would be the same through both and if turned up or down both pairs of speakers will turn up or down.

The two separate pairs can be turned on and off but the same source and volume is played through both pairs of speakers.

For the kitchen you could use the same Fyne F301 or if they are too large you could go for the F300 priced at 99€

Hi Dubsaab,

Good to hear from you - long time!

The Marantz PM6007 has completely discreet A + B speakers, they can only play the same source but you can have any combo of A / B / A + B no problem.

The only issue is that if you are in the 'remote' room you cannot control the source selection, if you need to do this you could look at something like the Denon DRA800 which adds tuner / internet functionality & HDMI inputs (great if you want to connect up to a TV) - the DRA800 has Denon HEOS on board so it is App controlled by your phone or Pad which gives you far greater control if you are in a different room to the amp - check it out here:

..However if you are happy with the good old fashioned and completely reliable, walking across to the amp and switching the speakers off and on - you really can't beat the PM6007 - it's a stonking good amp!

On the speakers - I would recommend the Fyne F300 200% - at the current price of just £49.95 / 63€ in either light Oak or walnut they are a complete steal (they are slightly more expensive in Black as we have very limited stocks in Black), to be honest, I would not use the Mass Sats with the PM6007, they are really too small to do the amp justice and the F300 will sound about 10,000 times better and cost you less!

We have all those available from local stock, it will make a huge difference over your SONOS 5 and make the system far easier to operate , and of course you can still use your SONOS 5 elsewhere in the house at any time connected to the system if you add a SONOS Port.

I am going to need 50m of speaker cable to cover 4 speakers but can only order 25m online, is there a way to order the 50m?

Hey Dubsaab.

For some reason it only goes up to 25 meters but if you go back to the product page and hit buy it now again it will allow you to add up to another 25m.

I can keep my eye out for the order arriving and make sure you get one 50 meter length so you can cut it to length yourself.
