Phoenix Park - why no games area

After travelling around European cities like Barcelona and Berlin, I noticed that lots of public parks have games areas. They normally have ping pong tables, football table tennis (not sure what this is called) and basketball courts. They are well used by people throughout the day and after work. They are resistant to the elements, and you only have to bring a small raquette.

Why don't we have this in the Phoenix Park? There's loads of space. It seems like a no-brainer.

It's a beautiful park but there's not a lot to "do" there - it can even be hard to get a coffee.

This is Dublin, we can't have nice things. They get vandalised or stolen. Ok that's a little tongue in cheek but not very. So many playgrounds and sports facilities vandalised every year.

To be honest the Phoenix Park is about the only public amenity in Dublin which is well kept and unspoiled. As the other poster said, anywhere else, it would be stolen, vandalasied, or yung ones would be riding in/on it.

These things are fairly vandal-proof. They are made of concrete and steel. They certainly can't be stolen anyway. I don't think that's a good reason not to provide amenities for people anyway. Do we really have more vandals than any other country?
