Different kind of tumour & not recent either but I’m dealing with a reoccurring pituitary tumour craniopharyngioma since around 1990, symptoms started with severe headaches & visual problems. Had surgery 14 times, radiotherapy twice, two reservoirs fitted & one removed since ‘91.

What are some of the symptoms you’re experiencing?

Jeez that must be really tough that’s definitely a lot worse, dizziness, headaches, seeing constant floaters, low energy, fatigue, brain fog/poor memory, can’t remember what I did last week sometimes, just want to feel “normal” again but in no way as bad as what u went through I can only imagine…

Have you had any sort of head X-ray? MRI or CT would be the first step.

The symptoms you’ve described could all be caused by many different things. The eye floaters, headaches, dizziness, memory issues & low energy/fatigue are also common symptoms of things like sleep deprivation & even depression.

A tumour in close proximity to your pituitary gland is going to cause you issues one way or another. It’ll likely be playing games with all or parts of your endocrine system among other systems in your body depending on what size & where exactly it is located. That part of your brain is close to the optic chiasm too, so it can cause problems with your vision. Loss of visual fields can be an indication something is wrong [you can check this briefly by closing one eye, staring straight ahead & slowly move your finger in from arms length at either side, then swap & check the other eye].

You haven’t said you have been diagnosed with this type of pituitary brain tumour. Like I said, the first step would be some sort of brain X-ray to identify the tumour, have you had a head X-ray performed yet? Please remember too, if you have undiagnosed medical problems consulting Dr. Google with a list of your symptoms is never a good idea. You’ll read nothing but the worst & most frightening things possible & end up causing yourself to panic unnecessarily.

Hi, just came across your post and wanted to check in on your progress. An MRI I had detected a pituitary tumour of 2mm on Christmas week and I have been unable to get a booking with an endocrinologist yet. I was informed itd take up to 3 months. So no official diagnosis yet. The MRI was performed due to very high prolactin levels so I suspect a functioning prolacinoma (thanks Dr Google!). Symptoms include memory loss (like you, cannot remember what I did today/ yesterday), am starting new Netflix series constantly forgetting that I was already in the middle of another! Inability to focus (a cup of coffee takes about half an hour to make), no retention of new information, muscle pain, disorientation, extreme sadness to anger, hair loss, breast pain, discharge, to name but a few. It’s terrifying. Life is currently on hold and I’m on sick leave but the thoughts of not getting to see a specialist for up to 3 months is the worst. Can you give me a positive outlook and tell me you got some medication and are now doing great?! 😀🤞🏼

I only heard of this today, Locum Dr rang with blood results i had done yesterday said my prolactin was very high in 1000 range normal range 460ish.

I've had loads of unexplained symptoms but put down to my low iron etc. was sent to gastroenterology waiting on colonoscopy .

Was also waiting to be referred to tricologist for my hair loss, waiting on referrel to perimenopause clinic for other symptoms but hormonal blood tests came back normal.

But reading about high prolactin i think symptoms could all be related.

I asked Locum Dr to get my Dr to ring me on Monday when she's back to go through results further and where do I go from here.
