    Hi all,

Looking for some recommendations for a 3-4 night city break in Europe in mid July.

We have two teenage kids in tow (13 & 15) so looking for something in addition to sightseeing that will keep them happy also.

Have already done London, Rome, Paris, Edinburgh and Prague over the years - not looking to revisit again.

Any recommendations or tips welcome - thanks in advance!

It's not a city break, but fly into Glasgow, pickup a car and in 30mins you are in the lowlands and then into the Highlands.

Some awesome scenery, great villages, towns and lochs.

    Alternatively, fly into Nice Airport.

You have the opportunity to stay in Nice, Antibes, Cannes or Monaco.

    All accessible via train.

Good weather, good beaches, good food and easily accessible by foot or train.

In Cannes Harbour look at booking a sailing yacht for a day or half day. Food and drink included. Shared experience with others, so you are not renting out the entire boat yourselves hence lower cost.

There was a lovely couple (French & English) who had a sailing yacht offering a great day out and allowing you or the kids to take the helm under supervision.

    An experience never forgotten.

AirBnB's available to keep costs down.

In Cannes, there is the fireworks competition in July & August. Awesome world class experience.

In Monaco, there is a great little pizza restaurant near the harbour. Grab a table on the sidewalk, order some pizza and a couple of glasses of wine and cola or juice and watch the supercars drive by.

Also more restaurants directly at the harbour to watch the super yachts.

    I'd recommend Barcelona

Plenty of sights, great food (definitely visit the Boqueria market), nice beach right by the city, cable car over the sea to Montjuic fort and the Olympic Stadium. Kids might like a tour of the Camp Nou if they're into football. I've been 5 or 6 times I think, never get bored of it

The only downside is pickpockets, need to keep your wits about you on public transport and avoid La Ramblas after dark

Recommend Athens, a very walkable city with amazing sightseeting, endless cafe's Bars and restaurants with enough walking to wear out anyone.. and it's a lot cheaper than other countries in Europe..

Berlin, not sure about the kids stuff though. There's so much to do and see there, it's a city I'd go back to. There is a quirky museum there that's like an apartment block in East Berlin.

Breakfast in the revolving TV Tower is a must but adding the cost of two teens may be hard to justify.

Florence isn't far away either. Great little city.
