Cold composite door.

    I got a new composite door installed recently. Supplied and fitted by a reputable company.

    I have a thermal leak detector for a few days and checked out the door. It shows up blue i e cold. That would be a drop of about 4/5 Deg on surrounding areas.

    My question is should a good quality composite door be that cold.

    What was the advertised insulation rating/u-value on the door? It's usually communicated in W/m2K.

    What were the ambient internal and external temperatures at the time of measurement as these obviously have a considerable bearing on the difference on either side of the door?

    Sorry for diverting of course OP but overall are composite doors a good investment? Are they far superior tu UPVC doors?

    The U value is 0.205

    The hall temperature at the time of checking was 20 Deg. The meter reading was 15.5 when pointed at the door. Unfortunately I didn't note the outside night time temperature at the time.
