    My mother had the album Street Legal on record...she loved the song Baby Please Stop Crying but didn't really listen/know the songs on the flip side...I did listen to them...and loved them..it's a great album..this ^ is one of my favorite songs ever....but I haven't a clue what it means....

    Any other Bob Dylan fans have an insight or opinion on this song? ....

    It's just before the religious 1979-1981 era

    Some sort of apocalypse I think

    Or else a historical event - Joan of Arc has been mentioned by some.

    His Bootleg Series of box sets hasn't captured this period yet - will be interesting when they do.
