USB to USB adaptor question

Hi folks,

I bought a Huawei Mateview monitor six months ago and the USB-C port has just stopped working. I have stupidly lost the receipt, so can't return it for replacement or repair. There is a spare USB port however, so my question is this: if I use a USB to USB-C adaptor will the USB port be able to send video/audio and charge the laptop at the same time (like a USB-C would)?

You don't need the receipt specifically as proof of purchase - if you paid by card the the date and amount will be on the statement, that will also suffice. Did you buy it online or in a bricks and mortar shop?

Almost definitely not. It's likely a downstream normal usb port only

It was, frustratingly, bought with a one4all card. I've contacted one4all and they sent me email confirmation of the date/shop/time it was spent, but are not able to issue a statement of any kind.

Definitely only the USB C could do it according to that.
