Cannot connect mobile phone to Amazon Echo Dot

I attempted to set-up my Amazon echo dot.
The app instructed me to connect to Amazon-XXX from my phone.
I connected to Amazon-E1Q, but then i got a message that said i am connected to to Alexa but i have no internet access
What do i do?

Do you have the Alexa App on your phone?
For setting up the Echo Dot, you first connect to it over Wifi, then you set up the Echo to connect to your home Wifi and any other settings you want, it then connects to your home network and you reconnect your phone to your home network.

I have Alexa on my phone
I connected to it from my phone over Wifi (Amazon-E1Q).
However i was unable to to set-up the Echo to connect to my home Wifi
