Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hello, I've recently been looking into modding my 360, I've seen that the process involves smoldering. If it comes down to it I'll give it a try myself but I don't really trust myself to do it without messing it up. Wondering if there's anyone who does the RGH in Ireland. In Wicklow and willing to send it off.

There's a seller based in Cabra in Dublin selling modded consoles on adverts, I'd say he might do it for you.

EDIT: Just noticed thread is 10 months old...

Check youtube for MrMario2011 - thorough guides (bordering on Explain Like I'm 5) - the difficulty depends on your model.

You might well be able to try it yourself. Practice soldering and de-soldering on something else. A decent soldering iron doesn't have to cost a fortune. Flux is your friend, along with heat and speed, it helps solder flow where it needs to go.

Clean it up afterwards with IPA (99%).

Buy the x-clamps (€3-7ish shipped), kapton tape (€10), heatshrink (various sizes, €5?), AWS28-30 wire (€10-15), flux pot/pen/syringe (€5?), 99% isopropyl alcohol (IPA) (€cheap), solderwick (copper braid for desoldering €5), cotton buds, thermal paste (€10?), Xacto/craft-knife, magnifying glass etc. off amazon/aliexpress/centra etc. - you'll use pretty much all of it in any soldering thing and have an easier time.

Any 2.5" SATA disk can work.

If you have a Corona motherboard, get a "Postfix adapter" (€5) just in case.

consolemods.org has a whole bunch of resources and guides including board revision check.
