Sim card for alarm system

I previously bought a SIM Card from Vodafone for a GSM unit in an alarm system, but that seems to have died. About to get a new sim card - which network has the best PAYG option? I want one i need to only top up infrequently and which can be topped up online.

Most GSMs need a 2G sim to send texts so make sure the sim is 2G, Vodafone do a tri sim which is 2-3-4G
