    Hi folks,

Would there be anyone here familiar with the 2020 C5 Aircross 1.2 petrol engine?

Started getting the ‘Engine Oil Pressure Fault. Stop the vehicle.’ message. Engine goes limp. It clears if I turn off the engine and then restart, it could happen a few more times and then nothing, the car works fine, no lights or warnings showing. There’s just over 45k km on the clock, have had it from new, due a service now but serviced up to now. Oil level on the dipstick is fine, oil itself looks good.

It’s still under warranty but it’s impossible to get the main dealer to look at it.

Probably impossible to say if this is a sensor issue or an actual issue without proper diagnostics.

Anyone else encounter this issue and how was it solved?

Thanks in advance for any help.

It's still under warranty, their problem.

Absolutely Oops, I’ve a separate issue with Coolant vanishing from reservoir, brought it to the main dealer 3 times so far who insisted they’ve checked for leaks, did the pressure tests etc and can’t find any problems. They suggested each time that the reservoir cap wasn’t screwed tight enough, couldn’t imagine coolant evaporating that quickly!

As regards the oil pressure problem have a look at the C5 aircross owners UK on FB. Pretty sure I remember seeing someone having this fault and it was a timing belt about to fail. They are a wet belt and need to be changed more often than most modern engines.

If it's showing oil pressure fault call breakdown assist instead of driving it to dealer. Most likely it'll be recovered even without seeing the fault.Warranty breakdowns are supposed to get priority in the dealers. Be aware it's nearest dealer it'll go to- not selling dealer.

If it says to stop the vehicle, just stop driving and call a tow truck. Citroen can sort you out with a rental. Make it their problem.

The car will record how long it has been driven with the light on, and when it came on, you do not want to be arguing why you restarted and kept driving if/when a warranty is up for debate.
