I am a fan of discount brokers, who deliver lower fees and commissions, rather than the high fees / commissions typical of Ireland.

No advice though, and that's worth paying for more often than you'd imagine.

Worth remembering that discount brokers are not volunteers, and from personal experience can be eaten price wise.

I've also met several clients who have made basic errors in setting up pensions etc. and realized too late that poor planning is ultimately much more expensive than a initial low price.

I think it'll be either expensive or impossible to get cover unfortunately.

Your best chances are with an experienced Broker.

I'm not able to make a specific recommendation due to a potential conflict of interest.

It is difficult but possible to get a mortgage without obtaining cover, if the lender agrees. Given your risk profile, I'd expect it will be difficult and expensive to get cover and even if you do it is likely to come with restrictions that means it might not be beneficial other than being able to tick the box required by the lender.
