Mk6 GTD, Push clutch to start bypass

MK6 GTD failed to start after a trip to the takeaway,

battery fine, i suspect it's the Clutch position sensor -G476- as depress clutch still displays once clutch is depressed and car has no notion of turning over

can anyone tell me how to bypass this so i can get car started and get it home. I'm assuming its pins 1&4 need bridging.

Will the car start on a push start if the bypass is not possible as i see it would be a nightmare to gain access to it on the side of the road.

    any help appreciated.

A tow truck? A mate with a rope?

Typically these would have 2 switches for safety. It looks like this is an electronic switch that needs power so a simple bypass may not work. Connecting 1, 2 & 3 together might work, or it might destroy the ecu of the car. Unplugging any sensor when battery is connected may trigger an error that's not easily reset. You can also damage the pins or sockets of the connector creating more problems.

Doesn’t sounds as straightforward as just jumping two pins together I’m afraid.. came across the following discussion about it - https://www.vwvortex.com/threads/clutch-switch-bypass.9473551/

thanks for the help, I will check the vwvortex site.

you can buy bypass cables, but at the end of the day it's just a configuration of wires crossed int eh harness that nobody wants to share.

the sensor is a hall sensor, in a stupid place attached to the master cylinder, the mk7 you can bypass with a magnet of the correct strength, solenoid and relay. just can't see any info for the mk6.

the search continues, car home now, keys got locked into it after the tow with an A-frame 😫 but lucky enough opening doors was straight forward.

few parts order so we'll said and see.

    thanks everyone

It’s a long shot but could you program the car start without engaging the clutch with the Carista app? I know there’s an option for it on my bmw

I think the bypass has it's drawbacks. You'll lose the ignition on option, if its button start
