RTE One and 2s stale idents

    Back in the day they'd refresh them frequently but RTE one has had some of the same idents now for almost 20 years.

    There are some nice St.Patrick’s Festival idents running at the moment but yes the idents on both RTÉ 1 and 2 badly need to be refreshed.

    Not quite sure what exactly an ident is!

    But those folk have been stretching/running across that bridge for about 15 years now.

    An ident is the piece of film with the channel logo shown as a programme is introduced.

    ahh...I miss the oul "Can you dig it... la la la" articulated truck as it trundles along the road.

    Ident = station identification.

    And yes some of the RTE One ones date from November 2006 albeit cropped from their original versions when the current presentation package launched in January 2014. If it lasts this year it will be ten years old and is already RTE One’s longest lasting on air identity since 1980.
