Storage heater works by day but not at night

I have a Dimplex storage heater in an apartment. It's there since Day 1 so it's over 20 years old.

It works perfectly by day but not at night. (A recent problem).

The light on the wall switch comes on, as normal, when the apartment switches to night rate, but it doesn't store any heat and is stone cold in the morning.

The thermotstatic wheel seems to be functioning okay.

Has anyone any idea what the problem might be?

Thanks for the replies.

I got an electrician to look at it this afternoon. He took off the front cover and checked everything.

The problem turned out to be with the night heat thermostat.

He worked on it (without having to replace it) and it appears to be working again now.

I'll know tomorrow morning... 😉
