Bereavement and Joint Tax Return

Hi, I hope that someone can point me in the right direction to advise my Mum. My Dad passed away before Christmas, he was in receipt of a Civil Service pension and filed a joint tax return with my Mum. She is due to receive a corresponding spouse's pension and I am wondering how this would be taxed?

I have updated the Revenue online and submitted Dad's death certificate to them but they have not acknowledged this. As my mother is 80 and not remotely IT friendly, getting her set up on ROS would be a nightmare.

Does she now need to get set up separately on ROS or does Dad's record just get amended from a joint to a single situation?

Any info would be much appreciated,

    Thanks, S
