Bought the gf a new series 8 41mm apple watch in argos

She wore it for a week but prefers her old fitbit thanks to its battery life

What would be the best way to get as much of the original cost back as possible , can i return it to argos, sell on adverts, ebay, cex, etc

You can sell it wherever you like for as much as you can get, but you can’t bring it back to Argos.

A week really isnt long enough for her to make up her mind to be honest, my wife recently (last August) switched from fitbit to apple watch also and at the start she too was complaining about the battery life, but she just got into the habit of sticking it on the charger every morning when she's having her shower and getting ready for work and now its no longer an issue.

She also prefers all the additional features on the health app and the fact that she doesn't have to pay extra for them like she had to with her fitbit.

You will find it hard to get close to what you paid for it selling it on tbh, unless you are prepared to take a hit of about €50/€75 on it.

Does that apply when the product has been used/worn? Presumably the watch has already been paired to a phone, and has been worn for a week.

Is it really that much of an inconvenience for her to leave it on charge for half hour to 45 mins each morning? Turning off all the health stuff makes it sort of pointless having the watch imho

Only a slight inconvienece, but she then puts on her old watch... a 2 year old €50 huawei that has a step counter that works and can be left on for 2 weeks without charging

As for health features, i have taken 4 paracetamol today because of it :(

so once you’ve opened it you have to keep it? Just got an SE delivered and realised I’ll want the always on feature on a 7 or 8.

There's nothing in Apple's return policies that says that at all. You can return open and configured items within the 14 days. The only exception is software.
