Who to notify about death of parent

My mother recently passed away. I know she was in receipt of a state pension, old-age or widows, so I notified the Pensions section. I asked in a follow up email if I should notify any other dsp sections but got no reply.

I emailed info@welfare.ie asking the same question but didn't get a definitive reply.

Anyone know if I should notify any other sections?

No there’s no need. Sorry about your mam. Was that her only pension? Anything from the UK? Occupational pension?

Sorry to hear this.

If you have access to bank statements, etc. check what amounts are going in / out.

I think she might have a pension from the UK but I don't know anything about it. I do have her online banking details but don't want to log in in case I don't have the right, yet. I am the executor of her will, l presume I will be granted access then? The will is a slow process.

If she had a UK pension then you’d see it on the online banking going in every month.

Because of the fluctuating rate between € and £ it will slightly differ every month.

She will very shortly now get a letter from UK overseas pension section in Wolves telling her the rate of pension she’s going to get this year. Her UK National Insurance number will be on that so you can ring them and let them know.

I think it might be an occupational pension from the NHS.

Sorry for your loss..

You'll need to inform her bank, any insurance companies (house etc)., HSE if she had a medical card. Utility companies if she had account in her name.

It's a lot to take on when you're grieving
