Trying to contact the council

Hi,

Where I live there is a dangerous obstruction by a footpath. I tripped on it a few times. To be a good citizen, I want to report it before someone gets hurt and there is lability. I have tried emailing the council but they ignore me. There is so many departments I don't know who to contact. Does anyone know which would ne the correct department to email?

Try one of your local councillors - that's usually a good way of getting something done.

Use this. If you contact your local Councillor, they'll only use it anyway to report your issue.

I reported a footpath to DLRCoCo and it was fixed the next day

Well thats wrong anyway, cos the link I posted above is to a DLR specific version of the same thing. Most other local Councils have adopted their own versions too, which was the natural progression of the 'fixyourstreet' pilot project.

I dont agree. I finally got a confirmation that they received my emails after a month and half. It should not take many emails and forty days to get a confirmation of an email. God knows how long I will be waiting to get a fix. Remember, I am doing them a favour and may save them thousands in liability. I have tripped on this hazard thrice. I can only comment on my council, maybe Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, but South Dublin County Council isnt very good.
