So the World Seniors Darts Championships starts today in the Circus Tavern. There is both an afternoon and an evening session. All games are live on BT Sports.

I enjoyed the 2022 version, mostly for nostalgia reasons, but there has been an entire Seniors tour for the last year so the standard should be much improved.

The draw can be found on the Wiki page below:

The schedule of play for tonight is as follows:

Round One (Best of 5 sets)

    Afternoon Session (1pm-5pm)

    Terry Jenkins v Chris Mason

    Les Wallace v Darryl Fitton

    David Cameron v Richie Howson

    Larry Butler v Darren Johnson

    Evening Session (7pm-11pm)

    Kevin Painter v Ronnie Baxter

    Trina Gulliver v Dennis Harbour

    Martin Adams v Dave Prins

    Peter Manley v Scott Mitchell

I'll be watching this over the Premier League anyway!

Yes I'll be watching this as well I fancy Scott Mitchell to have a good run. Chris Mason is supposed to be playing well as well.

He's out already. Terry Jenkins beat him in the first match of tournament 3-2. Good game to be fair, The Bull averaged nearly 89.

Howson the best form coming into this I think if he doesn't poop himself on tv he could win it out

It was a good tournament, standard was decent. I think it suffers from having the likes of Howson make the final. It's not his fault that he's one of the better senior players but people want to see the players with pedigree in the sport doing well, not many people will be tuning in to see Richie Howson play darts.

Well done to Thornton, he's clearly the best senior player at the moment.

I have to say I enjoyed the tournament Thronton does seem a class above in the senior ranks. It was wonderful to watch a decent standard without a bunch of drunken yahoos dancing and signing about yaya toure.
