Anyone managed to get Virgin Media player on 24" Lg tv

Hi

Have the virgin media player on our larger sitting room lg TV, but can't seem to find it anywhere on our smaller 24" Lg tvs

No sign of it on a 2021 or 2022 LG tv, RTE and TG4 players but no VM player. I only ever saw it on a Sony tv in the past and on Now sticks, I think others have it on android tv and Fire sticks.

I wonder am I doing something wrong, to get freesat I have UK for broadcasting, could that be the reason but then I have RTE and TG4 players.

Set the TV to Ireland for 10 minutes, download the Virgin Media player and then change it back.

I just tried that, no joy, I can see the VM player through the play store and can view programmes but can't see how to download it to tv and the VM player is not on the LG store. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hi all

I have an LG 2023 43" tv and can't get the VM player either. TG4 is there but you have to download it from the apps, not already on the home screen.

Very frustrating that broadcasters don't ensure their apps are on all platforms.

Another thing I note is that you no longer have the option to rearrange the Irish channels after doing a tune using the UK as the broadcast country, doing it that way so you get freesat channels.

Virgin media player doesn't appear to be on any tv brand, I did have it many years, 10 years ago, on a Sony tv. I use a Now stick for VMplayer now. I renumbered the Saorview channels on a 2022 LG recently. It wasn't obvious at the start, had to keep digging but got it sorted. It wasn't my tv so I am not near it at the moment so can't say from memory at the moment.

Unfortunately, the 2023 models have a newer version of webOS where they removed the ability to rejig the terrestrial channels. A pity really

Is that a recent model, does it have the other Irish players. I haven't seen the VM player highlighted by manufacturers or retailers on any brand in recent times. A pity the VMplayer is not more widely available, along with RTE and TG4, especially given the possibility of losing the RTE +1s.

The only way I have found around it is to set the quick access keys - 1 for rte 1, 2 for rte 2, etc and then have a number for bbc one to quickly change over to the satellite side.

For some strange reason I can't get channels c4, c5, bbc3, bbc4, bbc alba after scanning in the freesat channels. I think they might be on the same transponder, but strange why they haven't come in when the rest have.

Also the channel 4 app won't load for me. Itvx and c5 just give a blank screen, but not bothered about them. They must have some way of seeing what internet provider you.

Is there any tv out there that gives you the freesat and saorview channels on both sides. It is a shame that the LG wipes one side when you load the other - antennae/satellite.

Tg4 app wouldn't give me a stream last night on either tg4, tg4+1, or tg4+2. Only one that worked was Cula 4 which was actually a tg4+1 stream.

Rte app was on the home screen already.

It's a KD-49XH8096. Probably 3 years old. RTÉ and TG4 players are also present.
