    Do mobiles phones that use 2G, 3G and 4G Cellular Technology still work in Ireland ?

    I think 2g&3G are not being supported in Ireland now.4G will work for the foreseable future.

     3G is being retired in the near future. 2G will be supported for another few years and 4G will probably be in use for a long time yet.

    Depends what you're intended usage is, if it's voice calls, a 2G phone will work in the short term (3 years), longer term a 4G phone with VoLTE is a better option but not all networks are using VoLTE yet.
