Hi. Looking at getting a 2016 Discovery Sport as I've always loved Land Rovers but always out of my price range. Everyone telling me how expensive they are for servicing and repair.

Is this true? How expensive?? Could anybody give me an example so I can understand? Thanks

You live once. If you want one get one but definitely have few euro put aside for repairs

If buying one make sure turbo are good and no oil leakage around them as if you need to replace them body needs to come off chassis

Hi Op, as a 2016 will be out of warranty, you will need to consider the probability of issues, and the costs to repair. At that age I wouldn’t be bringing it to a main dealer for service/repair, but even with independents, repairs can be expensive. Most of the issues I’ve had have been annoying electrical problems. I’ve had a few LRs over the last 10 years and did drive a DS for a week while my car was in the garage. I really liked it, handles well and looks very nice indeed. If you can get a good deal and it has a full service history, go for it, but do count on it needing some money spent on it during your ownership.

Go for it, you'll learn the hard way...... The novelty won't be long wearing off.

Am I dreaming or did I read about engines 'melting' or some such?

Surely the fact that a car is well-dodgy garage queen is good news for garages.?
