    Scotland have their excuse now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 1,483 ✭✭✭Ben Bailey

How do players think that is not going to be picked up on ?.

    Moronic.

I think Scotland were about to get a reality check anyway, but I reckon this is going to turn into a proper spanking now.

I suppose Scotland having the stuffing knocked out of them and Gilchrist gone is better from our point of view.

This could be red for France.

    Drama. That'll be red.

Wow. What an idiotic thing to do.

    Not pretty

Great to see the medic taking the lead. Something Ireland need to take more responsibility on.

    Red for France too?

  • Administrators Posts: 55,250 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

    100% a red card.

That's the same fella sent off again murrayfield a few years back.

    Some clown

The Italian assistant ref has this right.

    Bonkers stuff.

Instead of players attending tackle school it should be coaches.

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 9,032 ✭✭✭fitz

Well done to the assistants not just going along. That's a stone cold red, and the nonsense about "no high degree of danger" was nonsense.

  • Site Banned Posts: 12,341 ✭✭✭✭Faugheen

Well done to the ARs there. The ref was saying he didn't see a high degree of danger and they spoke up in the interests of the safety of the players.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,327 ✭✭✭realhorrorshow

They're not trying to put in a sneaky hit and get away with it, they're trying to to make a big dominant hit but the margins are really fine. On the first kickoff they made a similar double tackle but a few inches lower.

As for Haouas, I have no idea what he was trying to do.

2 stone wall red cards. I thought he was going to bottle the France red card

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,140 ✭✭✭KH25

How in the name of god did the ref think that wasn’t red? Well done by the assistants. Blatant clear head contact and it somehow wasn’t clear to the ref?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 434 ✭✭Vital Transformation

Ref had to be talked into that.

Really good refereeing all round there. Ref was initially unsure but took the advice from his assistants and got to the right decision. I can think of a few refs too big headed to take advice in that situation and would go with a yellow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,790 ✭✭✭✭Burkie1203

I think because they weren't moving at pace. But it's a red card.

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 9,032 ✭✭✭fitz

He was absolutely about to, and if the ARs had done the same as Carley in the Ireland/France game and said nothing while clearly disagreeing, it would probably have been an incorrect yellow again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 995 ✭✭✭Ragwort and Stones

Apart from the red cards, Scotland looking like a very ordinary mid 6 nations team. Being bullied.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 1,483 ✭✭✭Ben Bailey

Alldritt subbed for 3rd choice prop. French discipline poor again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,022 ✭✭✭Paul Smeenus

    Bloody hell.

Watson and Aldritt both off to cover for ridiculous tackles by team-mates. 14 v 14 for almost 70 minutes. Mental.

nobody expected this first 11 mins

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,790 ✭✭✭✭Burkie1203

    Scotland will win this

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 9,032 ✭✭✭fitz

What's incredible is that the action for France red was so completely needless. So flabbergastingly stupid.
