I am trying to rent an apartment and the landlord is asking for Bank Statements. But I get paid in cash? What can I do to get proof of income?

How you you pay taxes? Have you got a W2 form or a tax return? At this stage in the year most people have one of these forms of income proof!

A recent payslip is normally fine for a proof of income.

Are you illegal?
If not then as others said tax return will do it for you.
