    Hi

The section of wire where my mains electric fence is connected to is gone very rusty. It's easily broke. The rest of the fence is fine. I have no power in the fence whatsoever. Is the rusty wire the issue as it may not be conducting the power

Wouldn’t think so. Have a good share of rusty fencing here and it works fine.

Check the earth poles coming out of the mains fencer, can be very easy to overlook and can make a huge difference to the amount of power going to the fence. Failing that, try to get your hands on a fault finder.

If where you connect lead from fencer to fence itself is rusty then yes it probably would affect performance, but rusty wire will transmit power. The lead out wire isn't copper wire? corrosion will occur at the join also then
