I was thinking about getting rid of my 2004 Focus and getting something from the early 90s as my runabout, I was wondering if anyone is aware of an insurance broker who will do classic insurance with a bike as the primary vehicle? Seems most require a normal car..

I'd be amazed if they did.

What's the thinking behind your plan?

Good question : I have previously had a classics insured exactly this way, with Autoline. Was a while back, but I definitely did though.

You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

This is what I currently have, a street triple and an 04 Focus with no power streering. I'd like to replace the Focus with something like an MR2 or if I could afford it a Volvo 240 with a v8 engine swap.

I tried a bunch of them..

    Abbey autoline - no

    Axa - no

First ireland - no and no japanese cars or any riff raff

    FBD - no

Campion & Dolmen waiting on call backs but not looking good.

Carole Nash (brokers) offer classic car insurance but they won't do you one policy to cover a bike and a car.

What I am looking for is a classic car insurance policy where a motorbike is the primary vehicle rather than a car. I am giving up, buying a Yaris which I think is the cheapest overall car between purchase/tax/insurance/running costs/maintenance and then I will look at getting a classic car.

Be very sure you can actually get insurance on a V8 Volvo 240 before you start... 🤯

    I have a new car, a classic car (1979 Escort RS2000) and a 2010 bike (Suzuki SFV650).

    3 separate insurance policies.
