    Where did you purchase Materials? How much per m is it for DIY - Insulation only as would need a plasterer to finish - looking at 150 to 180 mm solution?

    I saw a reference earlier in this tread about someone not using the word breathable, preferred the word porous as construction materials don't breath or impervious if not

    There are several construction materials that are designed to impervious to water but allow moisture vapour to pass through.

    Same as water proof breathable jacket.

    The breathable terminology is correct as it refers, in this case, to the performance of a building material, specially designed to allow water vapour to pass through and to be air and water tight.

    There was a second comment somewhere about the need to pump cavities due to them being open and not closed.

    Most cavities are closed, the concern is thermal looping, you couldn't pump an open cavity as the beds would go everywhere.

    Mine was pretty large. 186 sqm wall 41 sqm plinth 200mm 180mm. Rough cost for everything including the finish plastering was 12k. This is around late 2017.

    Not sure anyone would get close to that these days.

    I went diy as the quotes were coming in minimum 3 times that.

    Guys would a thermal bridge still be a problem if the soffit is solid concrete maybe a bigger issue ?

    Depends. Buy most likely yes it's a thermal bridge risk

    Someone would have to survey that for you. How longs a length of string.

    There's no real solution until its examine properly in context with the building.

    I agree with the advice above as you need to see the structure.

    If you think about it, the soffit is hanging out over as a cantilever so this weight will need to be supported inside, most via lightly a big concrete ring beam

    It is further complicated if the soffit/barge along the gables is concrete also

    So needs to be examined properly
