What was MuppetCheck(tm)

Years ago before the disasterous move to Vanilla and before incel trolls named after nazi generals started running amok there was a top secret mod tool called MuppetCheck that flushed many of these chancers out before they could get a foothold on the site.

Details are sparse. Theories suggest it might be a highly advanced AI-overlord-enabled writing style analyser that was years ahead of its time and could sniff out a troll with the first line of text they write. Now that it's gone with the bows and the arrows can someone in the know explain how it used to work?
