Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,

just a question about pay for a 'person' who works at a shop over this xmas. the person works 3 days a week for 7.5hrs a day.

On stephens day(monday bank holiday ) the shop was shut but they got paid. which was fine. the next day tue 27th,the owner shut the shop, but no one got paid(but the 'person' was rostered to work that day). the 'person' also worked that friday Dec30th and got paid for that. which was also fine. on sat 31st(new years eve) the owner shut the shop again(the 'person was rostered to work this day also) but did not get paid either.

so in fact out of these 4 days the' person' only got paid for Friday the work day and monday the bank holiday.

my question is should the employee get the 3 days wage due for the week above regardless of the decision for the shop to be shut by the owner?

    thanks all for reading this..

Not a legal expert on this, but sounds like a casual part-time contract.

In my experience id say no the person would not be paid - that being said, if the person was rostered and that roster was provided on short notice then that person may have an argument to seek payment if the employer is reasonable though you would likely be told to like it or lump it in most casual part time settings.
