Sounds like Ray D’Arcy’s had his weetabix and shown up early to visit production issues on the radio centre! 😀

Louise is sounding much more comfortable and natural lately I think. I know Pele were complaining The the first while that she sounded like just having a hassle voice with no real personality but it’s great to see h she is definitely settling into the show now and making it her own.

    🙄

Uh. I would suggest that a good percentage of the broadcast staff in RTE and other outlets

    could do it equally well.

Lets not elevate playing a few records into serious broadcasting.

Ha ha. Now you’ll pretend people compared her to entirely different types of broadcasters.

You clearly know nothing about the requirements to be good at what she and a select number of other notables do. You aren’t qualified in other words.

Tune into some obscure internet station or your local one if playing records is all you require.

Eh.. what else does Louise do here apart from play a few records? Reads a few requests and talks to Joe or whoever his stand in is that day? Not her fault that's how it is - short enough and the main requirement seems to be to play a few songs.

Pure rubbish, never remotely suggested that.

Stop trying to twist the post around.

Really enjoyed the mix. Old and new...wasn't aware of War and Treaty.

    Just what I needed :)

The issue is never the issue; the issue is always the revolution.

The Entryism process: 1) Demand access; 2) Demand accommodation; 3) Demand a seat at the table; 4) Demand to run the table; 5) Demand to run the institution; 6) Run the institution to produce more activists and policy until they run it into the ground.

Heard her reaching out a request from looper earlier today saying he was sending her some request texts for a a particular song I can’t remember but could she confirm she received his texts? I suppose reading it out was confirmation enough. Some people have way too little going on in their lives.

I think that about myself every time I post in these threads.

I'll give Louise a pass on this as it's the punters at the ploughing that are picking the music, but with the exception of Neil Young, today's songs remind me of being at a youth club disco in the early 90s

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,544 ✭✭✭squonk

Yeah there are a lot of Perle out there who just are not very exploratory when it vines to music. Even as a music fan I kind of get a bit jaded if the next big thing at this stage but I like hearing new stuff and this outside of my comfort zone that I might end up liking. That’s be bit I don’t blame people really for settling in their few bands or their preferred style of music at a young age and leaving it there.

That being said I’d say there is a large contingent there who would be big country and Irish fans. I can’t say I’ve ever enjoyed exposure to that.

That Lykke Li song was incredibly annoying...

Was travelling in the car today so had an opportunity to listen to the show. Really enjoyable show easy listening and some good music. Louise is very polished and natural and anyone who plays that’s entertainment on a wet Wednesday 👍👋

Correct call from Joe there. ‘Fire and Rain’ is an incredible song.

A few months in and still haven't really taken to her sickly sweet style.

I'm listening to less and less live radio every day.

    Agree strongly there Pa.

Wrong time of the day for the whispering unctiousness.
