Tea/Coffee.. on its own?

I can never have a cuppa (tea for me) without a nibble.. whether it be a simple bickie or something more tasty/substantial...

But whenever I meet mates for a cuppa.. (which is often).. many of em are happy to sip solo... but no, not me..

How about you?

Tis prob cos of how I was reared.. Mum always had loads of nice things in the house.. tea was never a solitary pleasure..

Greyhound breed thankfully - so not worried in that regards.. but - I dunno.. part of me would love to be just happy to sip.. umm

Always solo... It helps that I'm not at all partial to sweet things, although a good biscotti can be a welcome friend to a good coffee.

i'm all about the "Sweet" - never crave savoury foods at all.. I only have dinner cos I know I need the nutrients lol ..

i'd happily live on choc and bickies if I thought I could lol

Sure, if it's not an issue for you why not? Plenty ways of boosting the micronutrients with sweet foods, such as oats and smoothies... Even desserts can be nutrient loaded!

It must be an age thing for me. The older I get, the less I desire sweet things (except for drinks, I've started hating tap water and love my Ribena!). Crave salty things though, not good!

A cup of tea with some choc or even a bickie or cake is one of the best things in the world, its very underrated. I find it hard to have tea without something sweet but as I drink 7-8 cups a day I sadly have to drink it solo most of the time.

Rich tea biscuits, with butter as a sandwich, along with strong tea = golden childhood memory. Not sure if I'd like it now though.

I can imagine ginger nuts being good to dunk in chai maybe, hmmm...

I can drink coffee solo, but I'm psychologically incapable of drinking a cup of tea without a biscuit.

Coffee + hummus on toast is my favourite breakfast (but that's a rare thing for me).

This thread reminds me of the ads in the 80s for McVities Rich Tea biscuits, basically the tagline was that a cup of tea was too wet without a rich tea biscuit. Biscuit companies didn't want people drinking tea or coffee without bickies.

I'm over in Turkey now, they serve a couple of pieces of Turkish delight with a coffee. They drink tea all day long, oftentimes without an accompaniment.

Love Rich Tea bickies. My 2nd fav. wish they would make a choc version.. there is a market for it.

I don't drink coffee - only Tea (Barry's preferably)
