I suggest you get back onto them and point out that it's a 2 year statutory legal guarantee against faulty good under EU law - whatever the piece of paper in the box says. So providing you've used the remote as intended and haven't been using it to stir your tea/hammer nails, they (or Very as the retailer if I understand correctly) are on the hook

I've had to point this out to a few companies and it has always worked. I think they just want to put people off from returning faulty good but won't go as far as breaking the law.

LG keep citing 1-year warranty and say the EU statutory warranty (below) applies to the retailer. So I've emailed Power City now anyway and will see how I get on.

LG are being dicks. They're probably right, but Power City are at best going to have to go to them if they can offer a replacement at all. The non-dick and consumer friendly thing to do would be just send you the remote - it'll amount to the same thing in the end up anyway but save you the hassle.

Garmin for example are noted for being very good with replacements

I ordered a replacement remote from temu. €7.50. Turned up a few days ago and works perfectly.

I hadn't lost mine but the kids have a habit of wandering off with them so wanted the back up.

On another note anyone with this TV and a PS5. Randomly after closing or opening a game where the settings change I'll get a blank screen with flashing green. It's definitely the way it handles the signal from the PS5 as other inputs work fine. I have to totally turn off the power to the TV and back on then it leads the picture without issue. Very weird.

Scroll wheel, magic pointer, voice control?

I don’t really need the voice control but the scroll and pointer feature would be must haves for me.

I didn't check voice or the wheel but it is the exact same remote (same layout and buttons) so I assume it all works the same.

Had a look for you, the magic pointer doesn't work. The scroll wheel does scroll up and down but no mouse pointer. But the buttons all work fine.

When I click the wheel it comes up saying it is trying to register a new magic remote but it fails.

So I'd say if you want a back up to turn it on, change channel and volume then it's fine. If you want to full experience prob better off getting an official one.

I was tempted by the 65 g2 at the same price a couple of weeks ago, but the volume of reported issues on that model with panel or coil whine problems put me off - even with 6 year warranty. It would appear to be specific to the 65, so I figured a c3 may be safer, or just wait for the 77s to reduce further (which they gradually are).

That’s an incredible price. I do dislike the magic remote and their own OS (the latest update is a marginal improvement) but the TV itself is incredible.

Any differences in these links seem to be in weight / dimensions only.

These official specs dont tell the full story regarding the panel though. Its very surprising because (according to Google) the C2 has a 20% brighter evo panel than CS6. G2 is a step up again as it has the evo panel AND a heat sink which makes the G2 display even better than the C2.

Thanks v much for that. yes read about the heat sink as well supposedly allowing to push hardware performance further even though, as you say, chip and panel specs look identical. seems like main difference is a bit more brightness vs the C2. I'm currently on a 49" Samsung fullHD which is about 8-9yrs old. This would be night and day for me!

budging at the idea of spending >10% of the TV price on the official stand. Might get a £30 one from Amazon as a first step and see how that looks.

Well I have the CS6 a year now and its amazing. After turning off all the energy saving stuff its plenty bright enough for me. 20%+ brighter again would be unreal. The G2 must light up the whole room.

The G3 came with a wall mount, guessing the G2 does to, that enables it to go flush to the wall (the mount folds into a little nook on the back in the TV), but it has standard vesa mounts on the back so anything would work. We threw it onto the mount the old TV was on and it worked perfectly

Purchased a C3 65" in the black Friday sales last year from richersounds for £1499 + £50 delivery and can not understate how impressed I am with this TV in both day and night.

If you can stretch a C or G series, I would go for it.

I opted the C3 over the G2 as I needed a stand and also based on RTINGS ratings.

Great TVs (my previous TV was a Samsung), but for me I ruled out current Samsungs as whilst they have HDR10+, they don't support Dolby Vision.

I feel over the past few years Dolby Vision has been more widely supported than HDR10+. Netflix, Disney+ & AppleTV in particular have more DV content. Also I use it for Xbox Series X which has certain titles which also use DV. But this is just my own personal view and may not be important for others.
