Nice pints to be had in Mother Macs... great selection of craft beers and whiskeys! Only up the road from Nancy's (Nancy Blakes), though it's changed a LOT (crowd wise) since we used to abuse ourselves in there in our 20s. Bar/Snug in there another option. Locke bar worth a shout... especially if shopping/hungry! Mickey Martins and Cobblestone Joes worth a mention.

Further up the town you''ll have all the 'trendy' spots like House, 101, Maggie Choos and Hunters (new sports bar). Then the auld staples like Tom Collins', White House, Myles Breens, Sextons, Any of the Flannerys, Souths... etc.

To be honest - you'll find lads and ladies from 20s to 50's and everything in between in most bars in Limerick this Christmas! Depends on what you're after and who you're with I suppose?

Flannery's on Catherine st, has an older crowd, some music and the nightclub on the side, something for all your tastes.

If you want glam and cocktails, go to house, although there's a lot of younger people there.

Mother macs as already mentioned is a v nice, quiet pub with a huge range of craft beers, whiskeys and gins.

    dolans for music, obviously.

101 and maggie choos has something for everyone, .

A bit more info might help narrow it down.

As above, there isn't really anywhere that's mainly over 40s. I'm mid 40s myself and could end up in any of the above. The Old Quarter, the Commerical, Ma Hogans, The Glen Tavern are others to add to the above. There'll be a mix of ages everywhere.

Old Quarter/Flannery's Catherine St. (The Rugby Ball one) are decent shouts

As mentioned above - Nancy's now has changed a lot - High volume of Brazilian/Spanish/Non-National patrons in there now, so it's a different atmosphere to what you'd want probably

Group of ladies over 40 going on night out during this week and wondering where to go that would be good fun. Many thanks for above recommendations.

The George/Da Vincenzos is worth a shout, or at the very least call in there for one at the beginning of the night. They do some fantastic cocktails.

you have t been out for a while?

101 for over 40’s!!! Average age is 25.

Jerry Flannerys does not have a night club. It’s not even a late bar anymore. They gave it up last year.
