No sound on BBC4

Anyone else experiencing no sound on BBC4 (Channel 150 on Virgin Media 365) this evening (17 Dec 2022)? Same problem on all four boxes in the house. I can get BBC4 with sound on the VM app on iPhone. No other channels appear to be affected.

A dear old lady in the Harrow area is complaining sound only comes on after watching BBC4 for about 30-40 odd minutes.

She's watching on a BT TV box hooked up to her really old Sony (analogue) TV.

I updated the BT TV box to the latest firmware and retuned all the channels but the problem persists.

I have advised her to contact BT as her neighbour who watches the channel on his own newer TV has no such problem, which indicates it's not a transmission issue but possibly an incompatibility of the channel with the BT TV box.

She seems to think I "owe" her a fix for the issue, but I can't see what else I can do without her replacing either her BT TV box or her TV.

I have a family member with an older VM box here. Not specific to any one channel, but there is sometimes a glitch with no sound. This usually happens on the first channel active when the box is turned on. She has to wait a minute, change the channel and return back to the first channel. Sometimes hitting Guide on the remote restores the sound.

If it is specific to BBC4, it is probably only observed as this comes on at 7pm. And has no sound until then? That would be a weird one I haven't a clue about.

That happens frequently with my VM box. But it's a TV360 so maybe not as old as your box.
