Loose curtain pole problem

I have a curtain pole that's coming away from the wall. It's on the inside of the back wall of the house (built 1940s). The rawplugs and screws have come out.

Would new bigger rawlplugs work, Can I stick a load of Tech 7 into the existing holes ?? I think I remember my late Dad using matchsticks ! I don't want to drill new holes. I don't fancy putting a batten on the wall either as the curtains will be too far from the wall. Any ideas please.

Only got my brother to sort ours out this morning, we had tried Tec7 and it didn't work. Unfortunately I didn't watch so not sure, did hear a drill, so he probably used a bigger rawplug and bigger screw.

If its into plaster board use a plaster board fixing. If its into block try a bigger raw plug

Oversize the rawlplugs or drill it deeper and push in two similar sized rawls and cut off the excess. Fit a longer or wider screw accordingly.
